I'm not a good liar honestly. It's funny how people wont believe me when i said i do. At first i feel a bit hurt because it simply implies that i always lie to people to make them thought that way. But now it doesnt really matter anymore. Like this saying, "Dont explain yourself. Your friends don't need it, your enemies wont believe it." No matter how hard you try to explain yourself, if people wouldn't want to believe what you say, what's the whole point of doing so, right? People will still choose what they want to believe.
Instead of telling lies, i choose to keep mum because i'm a bad liar and people might not believe me either. You know there were times when people doubt you when you're telling the truth and people choose to believe you when you're lying. That's how people choose what to believe. There were couple of times i intended to lie but i couldn't, so i keep quiet when i'm about quarter way of doing it. Surprisingly, somebody's doing the job for me by finishing the lie that i haven't start to tell yet. And when people ask for my verification, i didn't nod nor shake my head. These people asking whether this lie i intended (but i didn't tell) is true or not. How could i even answer them? Instead of waiting for my definite answer, they made their own judgment which most of the time, the lies succeed without having me to spill them out of my own mouth.
Honestly, i believe i'm 50% guilty about it but another half would be for the person who decides to speak on my behalf and the person who choose to believe the words that i didnt say on my own.
I never say that i'm an innocent person - which obviously, i'm not. Nor did i say i'm not worthy of anyone's trust - i seldom take my responsibilities for granted. Truthfully, for a person whom as blunt i am, lying is far opposite from my nature.
It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The signs of the hypocrite are three: when he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when he is entrusted with something, he betrays that trust.” (Narrated by al-Bukhari, 33; Muslim, 59)
Abdullah bin Mas`ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Truth leads to piety and piety leads to Jannah. A man persists in speaking the truth till he is enrolled with Allah as a truthful. Falsehood leads to vice and vice leads to the Fire (Hell), and a person persists on telling lies until he is enrolled as a liar”.
